Editing for Genre – Meeting Your Reader’s Expectations
Hey writer. When we’re editing, it helps to think about the genre we are writing in. Why? Because your reader sees a genre and comes to your work filled
I’m a writer, writing coach, and editor.
If there is one thing I love more than writing, it’s chatting about novels and helping others achieve their literary dreams – that’s why I’ve spent so long studying it!
When I decided to use my PhD, MA, and BA in Creative Writing to help others, I knew that it would take more than this knowledge to be a coach. That’s why I studied to become a Certified Professional Life Coach too.
Now I am well placed to guide you through the creative writing process from idea to completion, including any concerns that come up throughout the journey.
I know what it’s like to dream of being a writer while working in another profession. I know how important that dream of writing a novel is to you.
And, I understand how stressful it can be to try and squeeze writing into your full-time life.
I completed my full-time PhD alongside working two jobs. I didn’t just work in these roles, I succeeded in them – winning business excellence awards, achieving full mark observations in lecturing, and completing the PhD with minor revisions in only four years.
This did not happen overnight – it took years of creating a writing routine and building a schedule that worked for me.
My Values:
My values are creativity, attainment, learning and commitment.
Now, I can help you do the same!
If you want to achieve your goal of being a writer, you are in the right place.
My mix of coaching skills and Creative Writing tutoring will give you a head start on your writing dreams.
Already written your novel? No problem. First of all – congratulations! Now it’s time to make it shine. I have extensive experience and training in editing and have helped authors write and perfect their novels, gain publishing deals, receive full manuscript requests from agents, and be accepted into academic writing programmes.
You’re in the right place if you’re looking for a professional editor who uses strengths-based feedback. I offer full and detailed developmental edits, hourly editing, query editing, and first chapter edits.
My background in academic creative writing and higher education in this field have given me the skills and experience to polish your work to perfection.
I believe that everyone has the potential to write something great, and that with education, focus, framing & creative learning, we can write wonderful stories together.

A discovery call is a thirty minute chat about what you need help with. It’s very informal, and is like having coffee with a friend.
We will talk about anything you like to do with your writing. I use my experience as a creative writing tutor to both offer possible solutions to issues, as well as coaching you to understand why you are experiencing the issue and how we can move forward.
I also set tasks outside of our time together so that you can work toward your goals. All our conversations are confidential.
